Engineering

Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical engineering

Applications for 2010 places on the Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering programmes are now closed.

Our two-year engineering programme will give you exposure to our Centrica Energy operations across the UK. You’ll have the opportunity to work in gas processing, electricity generation, gas storage, renewables and the commercial activities.

We’ll give you the opportunity to apply your technical knowlege to the two areas below, both of which provide opportunities for mechanical, electrical and chemical engineers.

Centrica Energy

Gas production

Our North and South Morecambe development is one of the most sophisticated gas-processing terminals in Europe. You’ll be developing solutions to tackle some real-time issues and will have the opportunity to work on several development projects to ensure the continued safe operation and optimisation of the assets. This will include the opportunity to work offshore.

Power generation

Centrica Energy delivers a balanced portfolio strategy. This involves generating power from our own assets. Centrica is the UK's largest domestic electricity supplier, owning seven gas-fired power stations. We are currently building a new gas-fired power station at Langage in Devon, one of the most modern and efficient power stations in the world. We are also planning a separate project to link National Grid's gas pipeline extension at Choakford to the power station. This will see a 3km pipeline being developed under Centrica's guidance.
