I graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2011 with an MA in French Studies and whilst I was there I co-founded and ran a language training business, with a lot of our clients working in the energy industry.
What I loved most about running the business were the challenges of developing and engaging our team, so I decided to pursue a career in Human Resources. I moved to Paris to join the Group Learning and Development function of a large global energy company, which was a fantastic experience to develop my specialist skills. Despite this, I really wanted to get a broader grounding in HR before deciding which area to focus on. Centrica seemed like the perfect place to do this with placements in a vast array of roles across a very diverse group.
Since starting, I've taken customer calls and got stuck into projects at British Gas Central Heating Installation in Manchester and am looking forward to moving on to my next role as a Reward Analyst at Centrica head office in Windsor.
Outside work I'm really interested in media and get involved in writing, video and radio projects as well as volunteering with young people. I also love travelling and, having devoted a significant portion of my life to them, being able to put my language skills to good use!
