Once you’ve been offered a place on the Summer placement programme, we’ll be on hand to give you all the advice you need and make sure you get off to the best possible start.
In the months leading up to your placement we’ll keep in regular contact with business updates and news from the Central Graduate team. We’ll also provide details of our social media groups and give you the opportunity to network with your fellow summer placement students before you even begin.
Our previous placement students have been documenting their individual experiences at Centrica using Twitter. You can follow #summeratcentrica and find out what they have been up to. It may inspire you to document your experience with us too via photos and videos.
In addition, our active campus representatives – made up of current graduates and campus reps who are previous summer placement students – will get in touch and let you know what they are doing on your campus.
At your induction you’ll meet existing graduates and past Summer programme students as well as your Graduate Talent Manager and the Centrica Graduate team. You may get the chance to meet some of our senior executives as well. The induction is also an opportunity, of course, to begin new friendships with your fellow students.
As part of the programme you’ll get paid accommodation close to your work placement. Accommodation is normally in local university halls of residence and you’ll be staying with other summer placement students working in the same location. This gives you a chance to start building new friendships in a sociable and comfortable environment and develop a network that you can learn from and lean on when you need to.
"Within the first five minutes of moving into the accommodation I felt quite at home."
"Coming down to Heysham, I found the support network provided was extremely good."
